It is so easy to make smoked eggs that I believe that once you have tried them you will use them by the dozen for all your meals such as breakfast, lunch, on salads, and as snacks
Can You Smoke Eggs?
Yes, you can smoke eggs, and it is actually easy to do.
If you are a fan of eggs it is a MUST to try my smoked egg recipe. I love the smooth texture and the smoke flavor pairs with about any food I can think of.
Eggs by themselves do not have a lot of flavor, however, the texture of eggs will make it very easy for them to absorb the smoke flavor.
The only risk of this is that you can over smoke them if you let them go too long.
How To Smoke Eggs
The first way you can make smoked eggs is by making them on the smoker from start to finish.
The second way to make smoked eggs is to boil them, peel them, and then add them to the smoker.
I have tried both but prefer to boil my eggs first. The reason for this is probably that we get our eggs from a local Mennonite farm and they are very fresh.
As you know it is hard to peel fresh boiled eggs and I found out that for my eggs it is easier to do when I boil them first.
However, with store-bought eggs, I have used both methods without any problems.
Step 1: Cook the eggs.
Heat your smoker to about 325 °F (162°C) and place the eggs on the grates During the process you will see some brown spots but don’t worry it will not affect the taste.
My experience is to smoke the eggs for about 25 – 30 minutes.
Or boil your eggs the way you always do.
Step 2: Cool the eggs
Place the eggs in ice water or water that is as cool as you can get it to stop the cooking process.
Step 3: Peel the eggs
This can be tricky if you have fresh eggs and I am sure you will have your favorite way of peeling eggs.
Step 4: Smoke the eggs
if you have used your smoker to cook the eggs it is time to reduce the temperature to 180 – 200°F (82 – 93°C).
Lower is better and if you can do it in cooler weather you can smoke them as low as you can get.
I usually smoke the eggs for about 1 hour.
Step 5: Remove and Eat
Now it is time to eat them the way you like them. The options are endless and I love them just sliced with salt or cut them up and add them to a salad.

One of my favorite ways to use these smoked eggs is turning them into smoked deviled eggs.
