I was in the market for a new gas grill and after doing my due diligence before purchasing I decided on the Monument Grills New Mesa 300 series 2024.
What caught my attention was the many good things I read from people who bought and used one.
So, I just bought the new Monument Grills Mesa series 3 burners. The reason I picked the 3 burner instead of the also available 2, 4, and 6 burner was that it fits my family size.
Curious what I chose? You can see it here: https://monumentgrills.com/products/m305-larger-3-burner-liquid-propane-gas-grill
I also ordered the grill cover, the Pizza stone, and the utensils.

I picked the stainless silver color option but it is also available in black.
Monument Grills Mesa Series Features.
- 3 – 12000 BTU burners
- 12000 BTU side burner
- Clearview lid
- Warming Rack
- 570 square inches grill area
- Enameled firebox
After placing my order it surprised me how fast the grill was shipped.
When it was delivered I was glad that the delivery guy helped me carry the package to the back porch because it was heavy!

After opening, I must say that the way everything was packed in there was amazing. No space was unused.

Assembly Of The Monument Grills New Mesa 300 Series.
I did my fair share of grill assemblies and was not looking forward to this part. Many times I had a hard time with assemblies.
So, here we go.
All parts are numbered and the manual shows every part and the alphabetical order to place everything.
“If you can count to ten and know your alphabet you should have no problem assembling this grill.”
The only small problem I had was attaching the wire to the side burner. It was tied with a zip tie and I had to cut that.
The second one was that in the manual I could not find the part where to put the battery for the electronic ignition but as you can see in the picture below it was mentioned on the grill itself.
My bad!
Starting the grill is very easy. Set the button to high, press the button in, and at the same time press the ignition button.

Tip: The part where the burners are in can be a little heavy and I recommend asking someone to help you with that part of the assembly.

Difference Between The Old And The New Monument Grills.
One of the reasons I opted for the Monument Grills new Mesa was that the new 2004 models have some upgrades that I think are worth mentioning.
- Improved Clearview window
- Upgraded die-cast aluminum lid
- Better built-in thermometer
- Control know designed with light
- Side burner
- Hooks on the side shelf
- Bottle opener
- 4 caster wheels
Clearview Window
No more opening the lid every time you want to check your cooking progress. The Clearview window works fine. Even when there is smoke in the firebox.

Easy Clean Fire Box
I am not a big fan of cleaning a grill, as probably most of us.
That is why I was happy to see that the firebox comes with an enamel coating.

The advantages, besides easy cleaning, are that it makes the firebox better resistant to high temperatures and also prevents rust.
Grill Grates
I always pay a lot of attention the the material of the grill grates and I love the fact that they used cast iron in the Mesa Series.
I am a big fan of cast iron for grill grates since it has great heat retention, is easy to clean, and is, in my opinion, one of the best materials for great grill marks.
Grease Tray
If there is one thing I never look forward to is a grill that leaks grease.
The Mesa series comes with a large grease tray under the grill, which collects the dripping in a drip bucket. This drip bucket is easy to remove.
However, What I like is that you can easily remove the whole drip pan from the back of the grill, and with a bucket of hot water and soap, cleaning was very easy to do.
I usually cover my drip pan in aluminum foil for easy cleaning but after using that one time and finding out how easy cleaning is without it I do not do that anymore.
Buttons
I like the newly designed buttons! With my big hands, they were easy to turn and after dark, you can turn on the built-in lights.
Grill Cover
I always recommend buying a well-fitting and high-quality grill cover for any grill.
When I unpacked the grill cover I noticed immediately, and to my surprise, how heavy it was.

The straps at the bottom of the grill cover keep the wind from getting under there.
We had some heavy rain here that day after I assembled the grill and I noticed how the grill cover repelled all the rain, which is a sign of a good quality in my experience.
Cooking On The Monument Grills New Mesa Series.
All right that was enough talking about all the features and my opinion about them.
Let’s do some grilling!
I just had laid out a slab of ribs to smoke on my UDS smoker but decided to see if you can go low and slow on this 3 burner propane gas grill.
I like a challenge.
I played around with the burners and the settings while checking the temperature on the grate level.
I could not get 225 °F (107°C) on the grate level with just one burner and could not use more burners because that would place the ribs right above the burner.
What I ended up doing was placing the ribs on the warm hold rack on the right side and with only the left burner I was able to keep that part of the grill at my preferred 225°F (107°C) Fahrenheit for low and slow.

The following day I did some burgers and used the side burner to cook some sliced onion and mushrooms to add to the burger.
My gosh, you have to watch that side burner I gets very hot on high!
The burgers turned out great. I had a few flareups but when you keep the burgers in between the burners there are no problems.
The hamburger meat was 72/28 so I guess that the high fat content was the cause of most of the flare-ups.
Normally I use 80/20 for my hamburgers and have fewer problems with flare-ups.

In the meantime, I used the side burner to cook some onion and mushrooms in my cast iron skillet.
Where To Buy Monument Grills
I found several places where you can buy the new 2024 models of the Monument Grills and I suggest checking the price on each of them.
Monument Grills Reviews – My Experience
Overall I am very happy with the Monument Grills Mesa Series 3 burner propane gas grill.
Moving the grill around is very easy with the 4 caster wheels and I was surprised to see that all 4 have a locking mechanism and that is something you don’t see many times.
What I like most the most is the window in the grill hood that is known as the Monument Grills Clearview.
We all know the saying: “When you’re looking you’re not cooking”
The Clearview window helps you to keep the grill closed and not lose temperature.
You will have a more consistent temperature since you can check your meat or anything else through the window.
More grill manufacturers should add that feature.
There are many Monument Grills accessories that you can buy at their website and as I mentioned above I got met the Pizza Stone, the spatulas, and the grill cover.
You can see all the other accessories on the Monument Grills website.
Monument Grills VS other brands is a question I came up with a lot in my research for this review.
In my opinion, if you compare them to brands such as Weber, Char-Broil, or Nexgrills I believe you can not go wrong with the Monument Grills.
Some brands might use thicker steel but you have to pay a hefty price for that most of the time.
I have cooked on many of these brands and can answer the question of whether monument grills are good quality and are monument gas grills good with a big Yes!
