I share my easy, simple hamburger pinwheels recipe here. They are so easy to make and look amazing.
What Do You Need?
- Sliced bacon
- Hamburger meat
- Toothpicks
- BBQ rub.
I usually cook 4 or 5 of these bacon pinwheel burgers, and use maybe 1.5 pounds of hamburger and 8 slices of bacon.
The Preparation
Eddie’s Tip! Most of the time I start my charcoal before I do this to save some time.
The preparation of the hamburger pinwheels takes me about 15 minutes, and here is how I do this.
- Stretch a slice of bacon
- Take 1/2 slice of bacon and place that with some overlap on the first slice
- Add your hamburger meat on the slices of bacon
- Sprinkle your favorite BBQ rub
- Roll them up
- Secure with a toothpick
- Season the outside
As you can see, this is very easy and not time-consuming at all.

How To Grill Them
Since they don’t take that long, I grill them on my charcoal grill.
- Set up your charcoal grill for indirect grilling
- Wait for the grill to reach about 350°F (176°C)
- Place the pinwheel hamburgers on the opposite side of the fire.
- After 10 minutes, rotate them
- After another 10 minutes, check for doneness

As soon as they reach 165°F (73°C), take them off the grill and let them rest for a minute or 3.
Don’t forget to take out the toothpick when you serve them.
Eddie’s Tip! I usually take them off a little earlier, around 161 or 162 (71°C – 72°C). The carryover will keep them cooking and reach the 165 (73°C) mark.

Bacon Hamburger Pinwheels – My Experience
This is a nice variation of just a plain bacon burger, and you can add many things to make it your hamburger pinwheel recipe and impress your guests.
I have added cheese, mushrooms, and onion to these ground beef roll-ups, as some people also call them, but I prefer to eat them just as they are.
With your BBQ rub, you can spice them up as much as your taste buds like.
One of my favorite dishes to serve this with is my grilled and stuffed summer squash. The perfect combination of spices up meat and a soft and tender vegetable.
It takes me altogether about an hour from prepping the hamburger bacon pinwheel to serving, so it is an easy-to-fix meal for a normal working day dinner.
