Start with boiling and letting the macaroni cool.
Now mix all the other ingredients in the macaroni.
If there is any BBQ side dish that about every family has a “secret” recipe for, it must be macaroni salad.
Since I don’t have many secret recipes, I felt that sharing it here would help some people to get started and use this recipe for a test and then add their own flavors to it.
I think it is OK to call this healthy macaroni salad since it does not have any weight gaining ingredients in it.
I have used, besides the mayonnaise, Italian dressing, that gave it a nice new flavor.

How To Make This Macaroni Salad

As you will understand, you first have to boil the Macaroni. I like to do this the night before, so it is nice and cool when I start finishing this salad.

On the day I am making this, I start with chopping and preparing all the ingredients, so I don’t have to stop in between.

  • Start by mixing all the dry ingredients into the cooked and cooled Macaroni.

Macaroni, chopped onion, chopped celery, celery seeds, green olive, salt, pepper, and sliced green olives.

  • Now mix in the mayonnaise.
  • Mix all of this thoroughly and let it sit for a while.

I almost consider this one of the best sides to have with brisket.

I have used, besides the mayonnaise, Italian dressing, that gave it a nice new flavor.
